Every role is advertised with a real salary band. Bands are reviewed annually against market data and we do not negotiate individually, because negotiation rewards confidence rather than contribution.
Careers
We are hiring across engineering, delivery and security, based in Nottingham with hybrid working. Everything about the process is written down before you apply.
We are forty-two people in one office in Nottingham. There are three practices and two levels of management above an engineer, which is two more than we would like and considerably fewer than most.
You will be on client work within your first month, and you will be the person in the room rather than the person taking notes for someone who is. That is the appeal and it is also the demand: we do not have a layer of people to hide behind.
We are not a start-up, we are not scaling, and we are not going to tell you we are a family. We are a consultancy that tries to be a good place to spend a decade.
Terms
Published up front so that nobody wastes an afternoon discovering a dealbreaker in the third interview.
Every role is advertised with a real salary band. Bands are reviewed annually against market data and we do not negotiate individually, because negotiation rewards confidence rather than contribution.
Two days a week in the Nottingham office, the rest wherever you work best. Core hours are 10:00 to 15:00. Compressed and part-time arrangements are available in every role, including senior ones.
Four days a quarter of protected learning time, plus a conference or certification budget. Protected means it is in the delivery plan, not that you may take it if the project allows.
Twenty-eight days plus public holidays, rising by one day per year of service to a maximum of thirty-three. We do not offer unlimited leave, because people take less of it.
Only the support practice carries a rota, it is paid separately, and it is capped at one week in six. Engineers on delivery work are not woken up.
Client sites are mostly within two hours of Nottingham. Overnight stays are occasional and never expected at short notice.

Demonstration content
These vacancies are illustrative. There is no application backend in this framework; the contact form is a front-end demonstration only.
Process
Step 1
A CV and a few sentences about why this role. No covering letter, no competency form, no personality questionnaire.
Step 2
Forty-five minutes with the practice lead. It is a conversation about your work, not a screening call against a checklist.
Step 3
Two hours working on a realistic problem with one of our engineers, during working hours, paid at your day rate if you are freelance. Nothing is taken home and nothing is done unpaid.
Step 4
At the published band for the level we assessed, with the reasoning explained. You will hear either way within three working days.
We keep speculative applications on file for six months and we do reply to them.
